Privacy Policy

MapThisPage  ·  Last updated: April 2026

No data collected. Ever.

MapThisPage is a free Chrome extension that scans the webpage you are currently viewing and surfaces any addresses it finds. This policy explains our approach to your privacy — which is simple: we collect nothing.

What data we collect

None. MapThisPage does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data, browsing history, or any other information about you or your device.

How the extension works

All processing happens entirely within your browser. When you click the MapThisPage icon, the extension reads the text of the page you are on and identifies addresses locally. No data from that page is sent to any external server. Nothing leaves your browser.

Permissions

MapThisPage requests permission to read the content of the active tab. This permission is used solely to scan the page for addresses when you click the extension icon. It is never used to monitor your browsing, collect data, or run in the background without your action.

Third-party services

When you click "Open in Maps," you are directed to Google Maps in a new tab. That interaction is between you and Google, and is subject to Google's privacy policy. MapThisPage has no involvement in or visibility into that interaction.

Tip jar

If you choose to leave a tip, you will be directed to a third-party payment processor. Any payment information is handled entirely by that service and is never seen or stored by MapThisPage.

Children's privacy

MapThisPage does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date at the top. Given that we collect no data, we do not anticipate material changes.
